In the third quarter of 2025, Italy's tool app market displayed varied performance across the top five applications on a unified platform. Let's delve into the weekly trends for downloads and active users for each app, as reported by Sensor Tower.

CieID from Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato S.p.A. witnessed a fluctuating download pattern, peaking at 114K in mid-July before stabilizing around 83K by the end of September. Weekly active users showed a significant increase, rising from 1.7M at the start of the quarter to over 2M by the end.

The iliad app experienced a gradual decline in downloads, starting from 64K at the beginning of the quarter and dropping to 57K by the end. Active users, however, remained relatively stable, with a slight increase from 424K to 462K over the quarter.

Samsung Smart Switch Mobile saw a steady decrease in downloads, moving from 37K to 35K. Active user numbers fluctuated but ended the quarter with a small increase, closing at approximately 290K.

The QR & Barcode Scanner app, published by Gamma Play, had a varied download trend, starting at 37K, dipping in August, and recovering to 35K by September's end. Active users remained high, with an increase from 2.1M to 2.2M during the quarter.

Lastly, PDF Viewer&Scanner experienced a dramatic rise in downloads in July, reaching 52K, before dropping off significantly by September. Active users similarly fluctuated, ending at around 168K.
